Imagine a farm nestling on the shore of a highland loch, framed by the impressive snow-tipped peaks of Argyll's Ben Gruacham mountain.
 
Imagine also horses with their heads over loose box doors, their breath sending plumes of steam into the crisp clean frosty air. Sheltered from the chill north east wind by ancient native pine trees, and at the other end of the yard the stallions  proudly survey their domain. (That's the winter scene).
 
In the summer when all the foals are born and the early coverings are done in hand, both stallions run out at grass with their harem of mares, and its quite a wonderful sight amidst a magnificent back drop of lochs and mountains. The only stud farm to do this set amidst the mountains where over 100 inches of rain falls each year. Rockhill horses are known as very good doers, and certainly not afraid of water, and are very sure footed.

 
The stud was established in 1967 and over the years has built up a name for producing top quality stock with tremendous natures at reasonable prices, and a reputation for a caring after sales service.
 
The stock ranges from full Hanoverian breeding to Connemara Welsh Cob and TB X Hanovrian; and are competing and winning at all equestrian sports, all over the world.

All three of our stallions have truly marvelous gentle temperaments, with real quality and intelligence and are registered with B.H.H.R. Rockhill specialises in selling stock as foals each year plus a few older youngsters. All stock eligible all sport horse grading etc.
 
For anyone wanting to stay for a holiday  Rockhill also takes in guests on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis in 3 delightful bedrooms with a wonderful relaxed atmosphere.
 
There are also two very comfortable self-catering units with tremendous views over loch and mountains, just 150 yards from the waters edge. Guests come and stay not only from this country but from all over the world, for as they say 'an unforgettable holiday'.
